Tororo-Kampala 205 kms
Tororo set 5 kms off the main Kampala-Kenya road 17 kms from the Malaba border sees few tourists. People pass through usually en-route to Mbale to go trekking on Mt. Elgon. The Gateway buses are frequent throughout the day coming from Kampala continuing via Tororo to Mbale/Soroti and even onto to either Lira or Moroto. The 'Downtown Forex Bureau' under the sign Nova Enterprises in the town centre is the only place in town to change money. However finding an Asian trader to deal with outside of normal business hours would not be too difficult in Tororo. Rates are poor needless to say.

Tororo has it's own Internet cafe Tororo Computer Institute to be found next the Uganda Revenue Authority office on Bazaar Street by the Municipal Council Building. Surf time rates Ushs40- per minute or Ushs2,400- per hour.
